“Good Location ”

We had booked the Garden Room with on suite bathroom for one night. The bed was very comfortable and had lovely views of the garden. However we found that the bathroom/toilet was just separated from the bedroom by a thick curtain. We did not feel very comfortable with this and would have preferred a door to give more privacy.
The other disadvantage was that guests cannot check in before 4.30pm which we felt was quite late and it did not give us enough time to relax, unpack and refresh before heading out for dinner. The breakfast was very nice with fresh fruit and locally sourced produce for your cooked breakfast.

Thank you for your comments on your recent one night stay with us.

An overall Review Rating of 3 out of 5 is difficult to comprehend when the individual ratings are all scored 4 or 5 out of 5! Logically, the overall rating should be a minimum of 4 out of 5.

As your entry in our Visitors Book on your departure read; “Thank you for a lovely night’s stay, very relaxing, excellent breakfast”; we were rather taken aback with your Guestlink review comments.

To answer your questions in turn, you did choose the Garden Room when you made your booking. What a shame you did not tell us you were unhappy with the en-suite bathroom when you arrived; we would have been happy to show you other rooms and you could then have chosen one more suited to your needs.

As far as check in is concerned, we are quite open with this policy on our web site as we feel that an arrival time between 4.30 pm and 6.30 pm for a B&B in our home fits well with the personal service we offer, and gives plenty of time for preparation for dinner - all restaurants in the village are within 10 minutes walk!

On a more positive note we were pleased to read that you enjoyed our New Forest Breakfast.
