NF TOURISM ASSOC

Details

Local Barton-On-Sea duo 'Phil & Tilley' will be playing a special homecoming gig at the Forest Arts Centre, having spent the last four years travelling around New Zealand and Australia.

Playing over 200 shows a year, as well as earning some national airplay, they have crafted their unique sound which they describe as 'alternative-folk', drawing from influences such as John Martyn, Xavier Rudd and John Butler Trio.

Often mistaken as classically trained, self taught Double Bassist Alex Tilley, blends traditional styles of playing with ambient bowing techniques to create an atmospheric space for Phil's rustic vocal melodies.

Along with the picking style of the acoustic guitar and the occasional haunting sounds of a Lap Steel, the boys have been described as “one indivisible unit”, gaining them followers from all over the World.
