2 Gillies Holt Details

• The Gillies Holt is named after Mr Gillies. A wonderfully warm man who always wanted to run a hotel and whose generous daughter and her husband have been amazing support and friends to us
  
  The room is on the first floor and has its own external entrance. It is a four poster bedded room with a beautiful silver grey pine king size bed. In the en-suite there is a bath with shower over.
  
  The room is the perfect romantic retreat as it is tucked away in a very cosy corner of the building.

3 Standing Hat Details

• Double room sleeps 2
• This is our romantic eco-chic room. It has a stunning four poster made from a beech tree that fell down in the forest and has been turned into a king size bed by local tree surgeon Rob Dyer.
  
  The floor is bamboo. There is a generous walk in wetroom in the en-suite.
  
  Standing Hat is a ground floor room. The planners asked us to keep to the heights the same as the original 1650 house - so the ceilings are low. If you are over 6ft 3inches this might not be the room for you.
  
  Standing Hat is a car park in one of the most beautiful parts of the forest.

4 JamesHill Details

• James Hill is a first floor eco room built in January 2011 from locally sourced Douglas Fir and constructed to have a low Carbon Footprint. The magnificent king size four poster bed was constructed in Devon from FSE pine. Paint, furnishings and finishes are from eco friendly sources. Your water is heated by solar panels. You can use electricity from photovoltaic cells or pedal power for your LED flat screen TV. We would prefer it if you left the car at home if you take this room.

6 William 1 Details

• The perfect room for an escape. The William 1 has a superking zip and link bed which can either be a twin or a generous double. Large en suite and a delightful sitting area. The en suite has both a corner bath (with ducks) and double shower. Towels are warmed on a heated rail and you’ll find Radox bath and shower gel, plus Gilchrist & Soames soaps, and shampoos.
  
  Your room comes with TV & DVD/video player (selection of DVDs and videos available), CD player/alarm clock, tea & coffee, hair dryer and room safe. Watch your head on the sloped ceilings.
  
  The room is named after King William I (William the Conqueror) who founded the forest in 1079.

61 Exbury Details

• This balconied junior suite is popular summer and winter. The morning sun streams into this large and luxurious room. With a sitting area as well as a bedroom the Exbury is spacious enough to accommodate an extra bed. The balcony looks out over the front of the building where there is a car park, a line of trees, a road, a small green and then houses. The road is a minor road going out into the forest but it can get busy at times. We often find guests sitting on the balcony watching ponies on the green opposite.
  
  The en-suite has a bath with shower over complete with toy ducks. Bath sheets. Radox foam bath plus Gilchrist & Soames shampoo, soap, conditioner and lotion. Local hand made Brockenhurst soap. Your room has two TV's, a video player (video collection on ground floor), radio/alarm, tea & coffee, safe and hair dryer.
  
  Exbury Gardens boasts a world-class collection of award-winning Rhododendrons, Camellias and Azaleas.

7 Burley Details

• Delightful ground floor with wet-room en-suite and small, west-facing patio. The canopied double bed comes with a superb interior sprung Shakespeare mattress. Bath towels are warmed on a heated rail and you will find Radox shower gel in your wet room plus Gilchrist and Soames shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion.
  
  The room has TV & DVD/video player (DVD and video collection along the corridor), CD/radio/alarm, tea & coffee, safe and hair dryer. Due to the building’s age you may hear occasional noise from nearby, which may disturb very light sleepers.
  
  The room takes its name from Burley, a delightful village north of Brockenhurst famed for its witches, cider - and roaming donkeys.

• Breakfast is available in the Gillies Restaurant or in your room. . The Burley is a ground floor room with a double bed. It has a walk in wet room in the en-suite. It also has a west facing patio garden.

8 Tom Hayter Details

• Double room sleeps 2
• This room is on the site of Tom Hayter's Victorian stable block. The stable block has been replaced with two new rooms (Tom Hayter and the dog friendly Morant) both with patio gardens and their own entrance from the outside of the house. The Tom Hayter was added to the Cottage Lodge in February 2007.
  
  It has a vaulted bathroom with skylight and on clear nights you can see the stars! But only the stars can look back at you. You will find ecover shower gel in your shower and Radox bubble bath in your bath.
  
  You will also find Ecover hand wash in the sink for you to use. The glorious bed is made from light oak, inset with pear wood. Your mattress is a five foot interior sprung Shakespeare. Both were new February 2007.
  
  Tom Hayter: Tom Hayter owned Cottage Lodge in the 1900's.

9 Morant Details

• Double room sleeps 2
• We are delighted to offer our first dog friendly room. Complete with wooden floors, an enclosed patio garden and a hose for those days when your dog got just too dirty for words this room has been designed specially to spoil your dog.
  
  We don't charge any extra for dogs but we do ask that you pay for any damage your dog causes during its stay. If you are staying in the Morant and don't hve a dog we clean the room very thoroughly.
  
  The Morant is a simple but comfortable room with a five foot pine bed. And a very private patio garden. A little dressing area leads you into the bathroom which has a shower and bath. Ecover shower gel and Radox bubble bath are provided for your use. Your towels are warmed.
  
  Morant: The Morant family are very important in Brockenhurst.

• A large and welcoming room and a favourite that people return to year after year. The interior spring kig size mattress is comfortable. The en-suite has a bath with shower over plus ducks for the bath. Bath sheets are warmed on a heated rail and you’ll find Radox foam bath plus Gilchrist & Soames toiletries.
  
  Your room has TV with video player (video collection on ground floor). You will also find a radio/alarm clock, tea & coffee, room safe, and hair dryer.
  
  Rhinefield Ornamental Drive, which gives the room its name, is a very pretty route from Brockenhurst flanked by pines and miles of rhododendrons.

• This room hosts our most beautiful en suite. Relax in the corner bath after a walk in the forest. The Verderer’s Rest is a ground floor room with a view of a small courtyard with fountain and bird bath. The room has a zip and link bed that can either be a twin or 6-ft double.
  
  Bath sheets are warmed on a heated rail and you’ll find Radox foam bath plus Gilchrist & Soames toiletries within easy reach, plus ducks for the bath. Because of the age of the building from time to time you might hear a creaky floorboard. No, it’s not a ghost… its the people in the room above - when they step on a certain spot it squeaks. Your room has TV/video player (video collection nearby), radio/alarm, tea & coffee, safe, and hair dryer.
  
  The Verderer's is named after the people who take care of the forest.

93 Brusher Mill Details

• Double room sleeps 2
• A delightful double room that gets the afternoon sun, this is the only room we have that looks like a standard hotel bedroom so it’s the AA’s favourite! It has a generous built-in wardrobe with dressing table/desk area and drawers. Fitted side tables are either side of a charming bed with interior sprung mattress and iron headboard.
  
  The room name is inspired by Brusher Mills, the local snake-catcher who died over 100 years ago. He used to sell snakes to London Zoo.
  The en-suite is a bath only room. Bath sheets are warmed on a heated rail and there’s Radox foam bath and Gilchrist & Soames shampoo, soap, conditioner, and lotions. The room has TV & video (video collection on ground floor), radio/alarm clock, tea & coffee, safe, and hair dryer.

A generous double room Brusher Mills is on the first floor and looks to the rear of the building. It is in the older part of the house.

94 Foresters Details

• Double room sleeps 2
• This room was the main bedroom of the original cottage. The Foresters has the best of both worlds: the charm of a 350-year-old room with the convenience of a recently-updated modern bathroom. However, if you are a very light sleeper this room might not be for you. The room is over the Snug Bar. Whilst guests are normally very considerate of each other and the Snug is vacated by 11pm there can be noise from the room below. To put this into context we have had one complaint about noise in four years.
  
  The powerful shower in the large shower makes it a firm favourite with business visitors. In the en-suite, bath sheets are warmed on a heated rail and you will find Radox shower gel along with Gilchrist and Soames shampoo, conditioner, soap and hand cream.
  
  The Foresters bedroom floor sits on beams reclaimed from old sailing ships. It has a king-size bed with interior sprung mattress. Your room has TV/video (video collection on ground floor), radio alarm clock, tea & coffee, safe and hair dryer.

A generous double room Forester's is on the first floor and looks to the front of the building. It is in the older part of the house.

95 Bolderwood Details

• This charming little room has a walk in wet-room in the en-suite. With its own entrance (from the outside of the building) it is a perfect room for a short break away. The 4ft 6inch Shakespeare interior sprung mattress is of a very high quality and was new for February 2007.
  
  This ground floor room faces the front of the building so you can keep an eye on whats going on particularly if the ponies or cattle are passing by. In your bathroom you will find ecover hand wash and ecover shower gel for your convenience. Your towels will be warmed on a large towel rail and your vaulted bathroom has a skylight - on clear nights you can see the stars. But only the stars can look back at you!
  
  Bolderwood: is where the rangers feed the deer in the summer.

• The Bolderwood is a small room with its own private entrance to the side of the house. It has a shower in the en-suite. Bolderwood has a double bed. It is on the ground floor and looks to the front of the building. It is a generous single or a cosy double. Slightly larger than the Little Alice

96 Little Alice Details

• Double room sleeps 2
• A charming little room the Little Alice room is one of two bedrooms in the original forester’s cottage constructed in 1650. It’s named after Alice Liddle. It is at the front of the building and looks out over the car park to the road where the New Forest animals sometimes walk past.
  
  They made people much smaller in the 1650s so the ceiling height in the bedroom is 6ft three ins but becomes tighter in the en-suite. When you step up into the shower the headroom is 6ft. We have tried all sorts of clever ways to increase the headroom but it is tricky in an old building. But we hope the room’s charm and top quality interior sprung mattress makes up for any lack of headroom.
  
  Bath sheets, Ecover shower gel plus Gilchrist & Soames toiletries. Your room has tv, radio/alarm , tea & coffee, safe and hair dryer.
