The North Taste Trail

Hyde to Fritham along the Hampton Ridge

Nearest Bike Hire: Sandy Balls Holiday Centre    

Start: Stables Tea Room Hyde for Breakfast

Turn right out of Stables Tea Room's.

Take the first right follow the road (there is a row of houses on the right hand side).

At the brow of the hill turn left down the gravel track.

Bear right along which will lead you to Abbotswell Car Park.

Join the off road cycle network at Abbotswell Car Park along the Hampton Ridge which will lead you to the village of Fritham.

Lunch at the Royal Oak pub.

Retrace the route back to Abbotswell Car Park or alternatively carry on cycling to Fordingbridge to pick up some New Forest Marque sausages and meat from Prices Butchers and some fantastic Marque cheese from Mouse Hole Deli next to Prices.  


Extended Route

The route can be extended by following the route below and provides an ideal picnic spot by Eyeworth Pond.

Turn left onto the road at the end of the cycle network at the village of Fritham.

Follow the road down the hill and turn right into Eyeworth Car Park.

Follow the cycle network until you reach the main road (B3078.)

Retrace you route back down the cycle network to either picnic at Eyeworth Pond or Lunch at the Royal Oak.
