Tea Shop Reviews

Tea Shop: Highcliffe Castle and Tea Rooms
Review Date: 18th November 2007

A visit to Highcliffe Castle is always a treat as this historic building has much to interest both locals and visiting tourists alike. The setting is stunning, as the Castle is perched high on the cliff top with superb views across Christchurch Bay and towards the Isle of Wight. The grounds surrounding both Castle and Tearooms are delightful, originally designed by the famous garden architect, Gertrude Jekyll.

The Tea rooms situated next to the Castle offer a comprehensive variety of dishes ranging from plain sandwiches to delicious cooked lunches available throughout the day. They also have some of the yummiest home baked cakes and gateauxs for miles around which goes down particularly well with my family! The only problem I have encountered when visiting the Tearooms is whether to treat myself to the chocolate gateaux or throw caution to the wind and ‘pig out’ on the delicious cream teas!
