Food & Drink in The New Forest
It’s not just our unique foods – well where else can you eat pork, bacon and sausages produced from Pannage pigs, those free-roaming porkers that have dined on acorns and beech mast as they wander the forest? It’s not just the foraged food from our heaths and hedgerows, or even the game and venison that is sustainably caught within our boundaries. It’s not even the fish and shellfish that are carefully harvested just off our wild and beautiful coastline.
The reason so many people want to dine in the New Forest is the quality and consistency of all our food offer – from the fish and chips to the Michelin and AA rosette-starred restaurants to the fare on sale at our many farm shops and stores.
You can buy wine from our vineyards, artisan sweets and chocolates, pies, fresh vegetables and fruit, bread, cheese, cakes and honey at our specialist shops and markets.
Most of our eating places are proud to carry the New Forest Marque, indicating that the produce they use has been sourced locally and sustainably. And in the Autumn we are hosting our first ever Food and Drink Festival, where we have a week of culinary events, produce, tastes, dishes and activities for every foodie.
