Careys Manor and SenSpa are delighted to have been given a Gold award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme.
At Careys Manor we appreciate the impact that a large hotel can have on the environment, with so many people travelling to visit us every year and the energy and resources it takes to run such a large establishment, we feel that it is important for us to give something back.
For over 10 years we have implemented an ethical food policy of using local, organic and free-range produce as far as possible, and today are still undertaking a number of activities to ensure that we are as environmentally-friendly as we can be.
In January 2007 we launched the Careys Manor “Green Team”, which is a group of employees who meet regularly to make recommendations and improvements on environmental issues around the hotel.
We also actively promote green tourism by encouraging our guests to travel car-free and reward them with 10% off our standard tariff rate plus 2 for 1 tickets at Beaulieu, a free steam train ride at Exbury Gardens and 10% off cycle hire at Cycle Experience in Brockenhurst.

Global warming has been OUR major concern for a long time. In addition to ‘doing the right thing’, we believe going green is an absolute must, and a key to success for any business in this beautiful area of the New Forest National Park.
Participating in the GTBS scheme has enabled us to learn about efficiency through sound environmental advice. We would like to invite all our guests to share our passion to protect the environment.
Currently our web site is under construction, you will soon find all information on our Green page (what we do in the New Forest and our positive stance to protect the natural beauty of the area).

At 1 Honeysuckle Gardens, we are a Green Tourism Business Scheme Silver Award member, and as such are committed to good environmental practise for sustainable development.
We meet the legal requirements related to environmental protection and waste disposal, and aim to minimise our impact and maximise the positive aspects that we have on the environment.
We demonstrate our commitment by extensive recycling and re-use, to avoid waste, promotion of local breakfast ingredients, use of eco-friendly cleaning products, and many other energy-saving measures, yet without compromise to our B & B Guests, who are encouraged to support us in our aims.
