The New Forest Centre is THE place to start your visit to the New Forest. Conveniently located in Lyndhurst, the heart of the National Park, next to car and coach parking, you’ll find everything you need to know here to help you enjoy your trip to the Forest

Discover the traditions, animals, plants, geography, history and heritage of this amazing area that has been a living landscape for over 900 years. Learn about the Forest's unique and special qualities and how we can preserve them for future generations.

Whether it’s a ‘life size’ reconstruction of a traditional cob cottage, or touch-screen technology, there’s plenty for all tastes and all ages to enjoy.

 

 

 

 

 

There’s also a free REFERENCE LIBRARY relating to the Forest and don’t miss the chance to the see the famous NEW FOREST EMBROIDERY, designed by Belinda Lady Montagu to celebrate the 900th anniversary of the creation of the New Forest nine hundred years of the Forest.

Exhibitions of local art and history are also on display throughout the year and there is a well-stocked gift shop full of beautiful presents, gifts and souvenirs. With the New Forest Visitor Information Centre under the same roof, there’s everything you need here to make the most of your visit.
