Britain's biggest cycle race comes to England's newest National Park!

On Monday 10th of September 2007, 96 cyclists will be powering through the New Forest in the Tour of Britain cycle race. The Tour of Britain starts on Sunday 9th of September with a Prologue time trial at Crystal Palace Park in London and finishes in Glasgow Green, Glasgow on Saturday 15th of September.

Tour of Britain racing There are six stages of the race and Prologue time trial at Crystal Palace Park in London. The New Forest is included in the first stage which starts in Palmer Park Veldrome Reading and finishes at Hoglands Park in Southampton.

The cyclists will be working there way down through Test Valley into the New Forest. The New Forest route is

Bramshaw to Fritham
Milkham
Bolderwood
Ornamental Drive
Brockenhurst
Hatchet Pond ( This is the location of the hot spot sprint)
Beaulieu
Hill Top
Dibden

Brockenhurst is an ideal spot to watch the race and with a direct train service from Bournemouth, Southampton and London why not leave your car at home and hire a bike to really get in the spirit of the event!
