Kings Hyde Cottage

About

Kings Hyde Cottage, originally The Stables in the grounds of The Old Hyde offers guests cosy character with a touch of luxury. The stylish decor, modern facilities and lovely warm feel makes the cottage an ideal retreat for exploring the New Forest, all year round. Situated in a ideal location it offers totally independent single storey accommodation ideal for couples.

Recently refurbished to reflect it’s peaceful setting, it features your own front door leading into the hallway.

Light and airy Sitting/dining room with a vaulted ceiling, offering a comfortable place to relax with Log Burner for those chillier eveings, sofa, armchair and side tables. Equipped with television, DVD player, DAB radio, a selection of books and games.

The dining area with table and chairs with a retro hatch which looks through to the kitchen.

The newly fitted Kitchen has a Stoves integrated Hob and Fan Oven with grill, fridge with freezer compartment, washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster, Nespresso Coffee Machine and all the little essentials to offer a home away from home. Views from the kitchen window overlooking Kings Hyde.

The bedroom features a comfortable kingsize bed with Egyptian cotton bedding, large wardrobe with hanging space and shelves and underbed storage. Views from the bedroom window overlook the cottage garden.

The Shower room has a new vanity unit with basin and toilet, storage facilities, backlit vanity mirror and heated towel rail. The Double shower enclosure has a new Aqualiser power shower.

Guests can enjoy the sunny terrace which is accessed from the patio doors in the sitting room, overlooking the mature garden, featuring a table, chairs, barbecue and parasol.

Just behind the cottage guests have their own garden, recently updated. Chillout in the relaxing chairs after a hard day exploring.

You have a private parking space and a lockable storage area if you choose to bring or hire bicycles.

The Cottage is adjoined to the our main residence but guests retain excellent privacy.

The Cottage has an array of local information, walking maps and cycle maps.

Included in Rental Cost: Linen and Towels(except beach Towels) electricity, heating (September-May), Wifi, First Bag of Logs (October-May).

Kings Hyde Cottage is nestled in a quiet, ideal setting where you can walk down the drive and within a minute you are walking down a lane directly into the Open Forest (wellies are required in the wetter months) walking with the local wildlife of ponies, donkeys, cattle and deer. From here you can walk to The Hare and Hounds Pub,The Filly Inn and the Hobler pub.

The cottage is only a couple of miles from the Georgian Sailing town of Lymington, with it’s Saturday market, Marinas, supermarket, museum, pubs and fine dining establishments. Sway village, is 2 miles away with an amazing butcher, post office, general store and railway station with direct links to Waterloo Station. The many activities and attractions the New Forest National Park offers are all within a short distance of the cottage.
A little further, are the beautiful beaches along the south coast. You can wander the Solent Way from Lymington to Keyhaven along the sea wall, an area of international importance for the large numbersof breeding, feeding and roosting birds that it supports and admire the views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight.

The New Forest is a truly beautiful area, there are so many exhilarating and more relaxing activities and attractions in the National Park that I cannot list them all in this space. Walking and Cycling maps and more detailed information is available in the cottage and I’m always happy to help with ideas.

Kings Hyde Cottage is in a countryside location just 2 miles from Sway Station and 3 miles from all the amenities in Lymington.

Ideally located between countryside and coast.

By car:From North/East? In order to avoid a possible queue at the traffic lights in Lyndhurst, we suggest you leave the M27 at Junction 2 and bear left onto the A326 signposted to Beaulieu and Fawley. Just after the 4th roundabout bear left off the A326 following signs for the A35 to Lyndhurst.. At the traffic lights at the top of the slip-road bear right onto the A35 to Lyndhurst. At Lyndhurst join the A337 to Brockenhurst and Lymington. Soon after entering Brockenhurst turn right (opposite Le Blaireau Restaurant and Careys Manor Hotel) into Grigg Lane. Continue on this road to the T-Junction and cross over by Lloyds Bank into Sway Road. Continue on this road over the railway line to the next T-junction and then turn right onto the B3055 Sway Road. Continue on this road and take the 3rd turning on the left Pitmore Lane. Continue on this road over the cattle grid past houses on your left and then take the first turning on the left Mount Pleasant lane. Follow this 500 yards and the Driveway is on the right hand side prior to sharp right hand bend. It is signposted Silverton house. Continue up the driveway and park on the left hand side by the property.Follow the A31 from Ringwood heading East in the direction of Cadnam and Southampton. Come off A31 at Picket Post, signposted for Burley (also signposted for Services). Follow signs for Burley which will take you underneath the dual carriageway and out onto the forest road. Continue along the road, through Burley and out the other side where you will go past Burley golf course. After approx. 3 miles look out for a sign on your right hand side towards Sway (the sign is very small). Turn right on to this road and continue to the end. At the T Junction turn right on to the B3055 Sway Road. Continue up the driveway and park on the left hand side by the property.By public transport: Nearest Railway Station is Sway, (2.2 miles) or Brockenhurst (4.5 miles) with it's more frequent trains from London Waterloo.
