Built in 1627, this charming Grade 2 listed hotel offers cottage rooms as well as luxury garden rooms and suites - combining modern essentials with historic charm. Leave the M27 Motorway at Junction 1 and continue to Lyndhurst. On entering Lyndhurst, you will reach a set of traffic lights and the road bears left. After 300 yards, go right as signed for Brockenhurst. Stay in the left hand lane and you will soon leave Lyndhurst. After 5 miles you will reach Brockenhurst. Continue through Brockenhurst until you reach the railway level crossing. Just before the level crossing, you will see a pub called the Snakecatcher (on the left) and a short road on the right. This is Brookley Road. Turn into this road and then take a right turn and the Thatched Cottage Hotel is the next building on the right after the Foresters Arms pub. There is free parking at the front of the hotel.
Trains from London Waterloo are frequent and direct to Brockenhurst. Travelling time is approximately 89 minutes. From the train station, we are less than 5 minutes walk to the hotel.
There are also direct trains to Brockenhurst from Manchester, Birmingham, Oxford, Reading and Bournemouth on the CrossCountry service.
Our nearest airports are Southampton (35 minutes by road; 20 minutes by train) and Bournemouth (45 minutes by road). London's Heathrow Airport is 90 minutes by road and London's Gatwick Airport is 100 minutes by road. There are also bus and rail options from London's airports.
