New Forest Reptile Centre

The New Forest Reptile Centre is just outside of Lyndhurst off the A35 Christchurch road. The centre is open every day from 10am - 4.30pm during April to September. Entry to the New Forest Reptile Centre is free although there is a small charge for parking.

This centre is a wonderful place to visit where you can see many snakes and lizards that are found throughout Britain that you may struggle to find in the wild.

The Forestry Commission have created this centre to accommodate these reptiles in their natural environment in which you will be able to see up close as well as learning more about each species. Expect to find reptiles including the rare Sand lizard, Smooth snake and the poisonous adder to name just a few.

The best days to visit the New Forest Reptile Centre to get a good look at the reptiles will be on warmer day so you will have to bear in mind if the weather is not so good you may need to be patient in order to see the reptiles.

There is a picnic area for those wanting to sit and relax as well as toilet facilities if you need them.

Walking and Cycling at the Reptile Centre

A woodland walk is way marked from the car park which is suitable for both wheelchair and buggy users. And the New Forest Reptile Centre is also on the cycle network.
