Food & Drink in Beaulieu

After a busy day’s exploring there’s nothing better than stopping for some food or drink. By dining in Beaulieu you will be eating out in an area that is not only steeped in history but is simply beautiful too.

Pubs, inns and restaurants

Think historic settings, local produce and a friendly service and you’ll get the idea. Our local hotels open their restaurants and bar areas to non-residents so you don’t have to be staying here to enjoy our fine cuisine.

Warm up in front of the roaring log fires or relax in the garden of the Montagu Arms Hotel, right in the heart of the village or sample the rustic country fare of Monty’s Inn next door.

For a real traditional country pub, The Royal Oak at Hilltop is located on the outskirts of Beaulieu, with direct access onto the open forest. This beautiful pub building was built in 1848 and is now a popular location for locals and visitors to enjoy a lunchtime snack or cosy evening meal.

Charming cafes and tea rooms

In the heart of Beaulieu, within the Fairweather’s Garden Centre is Steff’s Kitchen. The chefs here strive to use local produce where possible and all the food served up is home cooked. Vegetables served up are either from the New Forest or are sourced from the on-site Patrick’s Patch.

Cream teas and light lunches are on offer at the Captain’s Cabin Tea Rooms in Buckler’s Hard, a great place to refuel after visiting the maritime village.

There are a couple of other cafés and tea rooms around the village including The Old Bakehouse and Pallets Tea and Coffee House so there is plenty of places for you to choose from if you are looking for a quick refreshment stop or a light bite to eat.
