Things to Do in Fordingbridge

The small, riverside town of Fordingbridge is also known as the northern gateway to the New Forest. The National Park is just a couple of miles from the heart of the town and offers a wealth of walking, cycling and other outdoor activities.

Within the town centre you will find an array of shops, places to eat and the local Fordingbridge Museum which depicts some of the fascinating history of the town.

Get your adrenalin pumping

Feeling adventurous? Why not take on the UK’s first Wibit outdoor, floating, inflatable sports Aqua Park at the New Forest Water Park? If you don’t feel like inflatable fun then there are opportunities to wakeboard or water-ski at this 50 acre site.

Archery, crossbow shooting and even axe throwing are some of the activities you can take part in with Insight Activities at their stunning woodland location at Featherdown Farm. Great fun for families, birthday parties, stag and hen dos.

Enjoy some of our leisurely activities

Kayak the waters at New Forest Water Park, embark on the long-distance Avon Valley Path (or sections of it), hire bikes from Sandy Balls Holiday Village or Hockey's Farm and explore the open heathland or cycle our Hyde to Fritham bike route.

Take part in some pony trekking with one of our nearby equestrian centres or perhaps a spot of fishing at Rockbourne Trout Fishery.

Discover the area’s rural charm

Whether it’s on a visit to the Countryside Museum at nearby Breamore House or at Hockey’s Farm Shop - here you can meet the resident animals including ponies, donkeys and sheep.

Keen birders and nature lovers should also check out the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust’s Blashford Lakes nature reserve to the south of Fordingbrige.
