Where to Buy Local Produce

You will find so much extraordinary local produce here in the New Forest, from sweet treats to delicious bread, cheeses, vegetables, meat, fish and even drinks, including ales, cider and various spirits. 

So you may be wondering, how do I get my hands on all of this fantastic local produce? Well, we’ve got the answer and tonnes of options for you! 

First place to go is the many local shops that we have located across the New Forest, within our wonderful towns and villages and some in the more rural areas too! Including Hockey’s Farm Shop in South Gorley, and Longdown Farm Shop in Ashurst. You can also purchase lots of local produce essentials from the New Forest Cider Shop in Burley, including their own locally produced ciders, juice and other local produce. 

In need of some vegetables and fruit? Head to Sopley Farm or Cat & Fiddle Farm Shop, where you can buy their glorious freshly picked crops, grown on site. From juice strawberries and raspberries to potatoes, asparagus and even garlic. 

Fancy trying out some of our locally produced drinks? Many local farm shops sell locally produced drinks, or go direct to the business that produces the beverages, Ringwood Brewery is one of the most popular locally produced drinks in the New Forest and they have their own shop that you can visit to purchase bottled and draught beers, as well as other locally produced treats too. New Forest Cider also stock their own delicious ciders and juices in their shop in Burley! 

Many other local producers have their own shops that you can visit, or they operate and sell their produce online. Make sure you take a trip to Burley Fudge Shop, to buy some of the most moreish fudge you’ll ever taste, or order online from New Forest Shortbread, the perfect treat to enjoy with your afternoon cuppa. 

Many local jam, conserve and chutney businesses products are available to buy online, and most will be found in the local shops listed above, too. 

Many New Forest Marque local retailers also stock a variety of local produce, such at Setley Ridge Farm Shop near Brockenhurst, Shappen Stores in Burley, Stewarts Garden Centre in Christchurch and Pilley Community Shop near Lymington.

There are lots of other independent shops across the New Forest, where you can pick up produce made locally, such as bakeries, butchers and fishmongers. Even some local convenience stores and supermarkets stock local New Forest produce too - so keep an eye out when shopping in these stores. 

For some different way to purchase local produce, how about ordering a fantastic local hamper, full of goodies made in and around the New Forest? You don’t want to miss out on The Forest Foodie’s hampers - from traditional picnic & afternoon tea hampers to special seafood hampers, and they are even able to create bespoke hampers too, where possible.

You could visit one of our weekly town & village markets to pick up some local food and drink too. Lymington holds a market on Saturdays, with Hythe’s market on a Tuesday and Ringwood’s and New Milton’s market running on Wednesdays. You will also see special New Forest producer and farmers’ markets popping up across our towns and villages too, with a popular one taking place at The Furlong in Ringwood on a regular basis. Plus, there are lots of seasonal markets that take place in the New Forest too, such as festive Christmas markets.
