Vegetarian Feasts

With loads of local farms and garden kitchens, the New Forest is full of vegetarian feasts! 

Whether you want to create vegetarian dishes at home or you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy delicious vegetarian dishes, the New Forest has it all. 

You can buy flavourful vegetables and fruit from local farm shops and other retailers dotted around the New Forest, including Cat & Fiddle Farm ShopHockey’s Farm ShopSopley Farm Shop and Longdown Farm Shop. Take your pick from shelves and baskets full of locally seasonal grown produce, from new potatoes, asparagusstrawberries, rhubarb and courgette within the spring and summer months and squash, pumpkins, sweetcorn, runner beans and main crop potatoes into the autumn. 

At some farms you can even go and pick your own crops to pop in your basket and take home with you! 

All of our restaurantspubs and cafes have loads of vegetarian, and vegan, options on their menus. There is a wonderful selection of plant based dishes on the 25-mile menu at The Pig, plus Lime Wood Hotel have their own plant-based food bar on site, Raw and Cured. From seasonal salads, to rustic charcuterie boards with award-winning local cheese, chutneys and freshly baked bread, to homemade cakes, smoothies and juices. It’s a great place to visit for a plant based meal or snack. 

The New Forest is the perfect spot to enjoy an afternoon tea in a glorious hotel garden, or cosied up inside by the fire, and most places will be more than happy to make their afternoon teas vegetarian, if you request this at booking!
