The New Forest is a wonderful place to celebrate – whether it’s a Christmas party, celebration lunch or, indeed, The Big Day itself, then you definitely need to check out the amazing breaks, food and events taking place over the festive season in the New Forest.

With our giant, real Christmas trees, crisp, frosty walks, magical roaming ponies and wild deer – not to mention our amazing hotels, guesthouses, restaurants and inns - we’re the perfect place for a cosy Christmas.

If your idea of Christmas heaven is roaring fires, beautiful surroundings and someone else taking care of the food & drink (and everything else!), we have a variety of seasonal accommodation packages to suit every taste and pocket at our hideaway country house hotels. There are packages including all sorts of festive food, parlour games, buffets, entertainment and even relaxing spas ranging from just £440 up to £915.

If you prefer to do your own thing at Christmas, we have a wonderful selection of self-catering cottages, B&Bs and Holiday Parks offering Christmas stays.

But you’ll need to hurry and book now to avoid disappointment – many lovely Christmas breaks have already been snapped up by those who know a good thing when they see it!

For those who don’t want to have the hassle of cooking lunch for everyone this year, you can sit back and enjoy a Christmas lunch with your friends and family, cooked by top chefs, at one of our amazing restaurants and pubs with all the trimmings. Some even allow your four-legged friend along too! There’s something to suit all budgets, all with fantastic different menus that cover everyone’s likes and needs.

Still need to book that Christmas Party? Whether for a group of colleagues, a family party or perhaps as a gathering of friends, the New Forest has the perfect venue for you! From themed parties to relaxed festive dining, take a look at what’s on offer to ensure you party goes with a swing.

Of course, Christmas isn’t just about eating and drinking. Not only do we have over 190,000 acres of magical forest for you to explore, to discover our wildlife or to burn off some Christmas calories, but we have a whole host of events in the lead up to Christmas to really get you in the festive spirit.

Paulton’s Park has Santa in his magical grotto and Peppa Pig World will be decked out in all its Christmas glory.

From December 1-23 inclusive, Longdown Activity Farm’s Christmas Barn will be open with the chance to meet Father Christmas here too, and you can also see some of the animals in the farmhouse grotto. Or head to Furzey Gardens for a Traditional Father Christmas Visit!

Get involved with Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum's 'Mission Not So Impossible - Santa's Toy Run 2018' on 8 December! The Mission is to collect as many presents as possible for children and parents who find themselves down on their luck and in our local Refuges. On the day there will be live music, a Christmas Fayre, Food & Drink and loads of magical fun to be had!

Need to be more active? Enjoy a fun festive paddle along the Beaulieu River with New Forest Activities, then say hello to Father Christmas and the kids will even receive a special gift from him at the end. Or hop aboard the Postal Express at Exbury Gardens and Steam Railway and tour through some of the enchanted grounds.

And talking of enchantment, it doesn’t come more so than Beaulieu’s magical and illuminated Christmas trail. Listen out for the singing trees, marvel at the tunnel of light which features around 100,000 twinkling bulbs, and soak up the atmosphere of the scented fire garden as you wind your way round the grounds on selected dates between November 23 and December 24.

Look out, too, for our New Forest Christmas switch-ons. They’re turning on Lymington’s lights on November 23, with a festive market and Santa’s arrival.

The next day it’s New Milton’s turn. Their Christmas Festival and Lantern Parade features a Disney theme, as well as plenty of stalls and entertainment. At the other end of the forest Lyndhurst will be having its Christmas switch-on, with entertainment outside The Mailmans Arms from 5pm, and fireworks, too.

Then, on Sunday December 2, Ringwood Christmas Fair and Lights Switch On takes place, with Santa arriving by carriage.

Don’t forget to visit the famous Byron Road in Barton-on-Sea. The Byron Road Christmas Lights event is an amazing festive display which raises money for various charities every year. The big switch-on for 2018 will take place on Sunday December 2.

And that’s just a handful of events happening, there is so much more festive fun to get involved with in the New Forest over Christmas – check out all of our Christmas events on our website!
