No airport hassles, no queues, no passport worries and a much lower carbon footprint – no wonder the smartest holidaymakers are choosing to staycation in the magical New Forest this summer!

Booking a summer break in this part of the world brings you closer to nature; to pretty towns and villages with beautiful shops and bustling markets, to boutique hotels and gorgeous country pubs, as well as 43 miles of peaceful, undiscovered coastline.

One of the reasons the New Forest is perfect for your summer break is because of its choice of accommodation. From camping in our wildest sites, through to some of the UK’s top-rated holiday parks, to friendly bed and breakfasts, to beautiful self-catering cottages, to our world-class hotels, there really is something for everyone –and you can even bring your dog!

Wild camping is not allowed in the New Forest but we’ve got that covered; several of our sites offer a back to basics experience, including Aldridge Hill, near Brockenhurst, which has no electric, toilets or showers, whereas Ashurst has toilets and showers but no electric.

Our tiniest site is Matley Wood, offering a wilder experience near Lyndhurst, with just 70 pitches. Or, for more activities and facilities, too, including a takeaway and a play area, try Holmsley Caravan and Camping site near Bransgore, which has 600 pitches and also accepts pets.

Need a little more comfort? Try our superb holiday parks, which will take you to the heart of the Forest or close to the coast.

Hoburne have been running holiday parks for 100 years and know how to make visitors feel at home. Their Naish park is perfect for those who want a quick walk to a sandy beach as well as playgrounds and eateries to suit all visitors and pockets – just like their variety of accommodation. With Sammy’s Squad to entertain the children and indoor and outdoor pools, you’ll never be stuck for something lovely to do.

Like its sister site, Hoburne Bashley near New Milton has everything you’ll need for the perfect getaway; as a couple, with the kids, or with your mates.

Walk their nature trail or play their 9-hole golf course. Ignore any cold or rainy weather by hunkering down in their sauna and steam rooms while the kids join Sammy’s Squad play club or the indoor soft play area. Or use it as your base for exploring the New Forest and its beaches before returning to your cosy accommodation and getting ready for an evening of entertainment and fun.

Five-star rated Shorefield Country Park is set in 100 landscaped acres close to New Milton and close to the coast. More than half those who visit each year are return visitors, eager to get fit, perhaps, using the park’s superb modern gym or the indoor and outdoor pools. Or perhaps it’s the accommodation they love, which includes signature lodges with hot tubs and private gardens. With fishing and crazy golf just two of the on-site entertainments, it’s easy to see why it’s so popular.

Sandy Balls Holiday Village near Fordingbridge is another place which has holiday parks down to a fine art. From caravans to woodland lodges, to a luxury glamping pod, it has all the accommodation you’ll ever need and at the right price and they’ll even let you bring your dog. With an Italian restaurant and an on-site pub you’ll be sorted for your evening meal after days spent cycling – Sandy Balls can organise bikes - or you could learn bushcraft, hang out with their alpacas, or in their spa.

If you’d rather be in your own self catering accommodation but with the added luxury of your very own pool, check out New Forest Cottages.  They have seven properties with pools, including Whiteshoot Farm at Redlynch, and Normandy Garth near Lymington.

For hotels with pools, look no further than New Forest Hotels. Four of their hotels have tranquil indoor swimming spaces and Burley Manor also has an outdoor number, perfect for sunny days.

Excellent swimming can also be found at Balmer Lawn Hotel, Chewton Glen and Lime Wood, as well as Careys Manor and New Park Manor, which welcomes families to its pool.

There are 100’s of other wonderful self catering properties and hotels to choose from across the New Forest too – from self catering properties accommodating between 2 and 18 people and the best boutique hotels around, you definitely won’t be stuck for choice!

If you crave the traditional friendliness and comfort of a proper Bed and Breakfast we can do that, too - from modern B&B's located in our towns and villages to more traditional B&B's deep within the forest!

Wherever you chose to stay on your summer break, you’ll find a hundred things to do while you're here, whether it’s our world-class attractions, fun-filled activities or some of our big summer events.

Petrolheads and people who like beautiful gardens should head to the National Motor Museum and Palace House at Beaulieu. From Sir Malcolm Campbell’s Bluebird to Del Boy Trotter’s Reliant Regal, to cars from James Bond movies and some of the original Montagu collection, we promise you’ll find one vehicle amongst the more than 200 that you’ll want to bring home with you.

Outside is just as grand; the children will enjoy riding the monorail around the grounds, before checking out Alice in Wonderland’s topiary and taking lunch in the restaurant, or picking the perfect spot for a picnic.

Arrive on August 3-4 and you’ll catch their Supercar Weekend, the must-see spectacular featuring around 450 of the world’s most exclusive and desirable motors.

You’ll be able to eyeball supercars including McLarens and Ferraris, hear their roar (there’s even a competition to see which one is the loudest), marvel at their horsepower on the demonstration run and chat to their lucky owners.

If your young ones are besotted by tractors they’ll adore Longdown Activity Farm near Ashurst which offers – weather permitting – a brilliantly bumpy tractor and trailer ride. Other farmy fun includes a Straw Den and a trampoline barn and in between you can learn about how a farm works and even help to care for the animals in the new Animal Encounter Barn.

Budding young Attenboroughs should get along to New Forest Wildlife Park at Ashurst. Unlike most zoos, this one concentrates on the creatures that are living all around us in Europe – but which most of us will never see.

From otters to red deer, to hedgehogs to the Eurasian lynx, you’ll be able to spot some of the most endangered and fascinating animals on our continent.

Those who love horses should visit Dorset Heavy Horse Centre near Verwood.

This award-winning park is recognised as both a family attraction and conservation centre for over 20 rare breed heavy horses. You’ll learn how these beautiful beasts have served humans for thousands of years; from hauling barges to carrying soldiers into battle, to ploughing the land for our food. Visitors can enjoy scenic carriage rides, pony riding and the chance to even drive a tractor! Add to this the zip wires, children’s play area and the straw barn with the mega drop slide, and the day will just race away.

And make sure you make time for our two top theme parks, Paultons – which has the UK’s only Peppa Pig World, and Adventure Wonderland near Bournemouth airport. Both are perfect for non-stop thrill rides and adventurous fun.

If you fancy traveling a little further afield, get along to Marwell Zoo near Winchester, which will get you tantalisingly close to some of the world’s most endangered species, including giraffes, rhinos and tigers.

And, if you like nothing better than a show, co-incide your visit with the best of them all, The New Forest and Hampshire County Show 2019, from July 30-August 1 at The Showground, Clay Hill, Brockenhurst.

Probably the biggest event in The New Forest – and just one of our many festivals - this three-day blockbuster showcases traditional country pursuits, horse jumping, cookery demos and lots of family fun.

Come along and investigate some of our local traditions, sample food from the produce market and shop for antiques, crafts, jewellery and clothing.

There’s a whole load of fun to be had by everyone in the New Forest this summer… find all the information you need to plan the perfect holiday on our website and book your summer holiday now!
