Although it may be getting colder, November is still a great time to get out crunching through those autumn leaves and to take in the warm colours of the trees before winter descends here in the New Forest.

We have some fantastic events and activities running here this month, so there’s plenty to tempt you to don those warmer clothes and come along for an explore. Take a look below for inspiration…

Seek some nature inspiration

Calling all nature lovers, pop along to the New Forest Heritage Centre in Lyndhurst for a chance to see Trevor Parsons’ photography exhibition, ‘Nature Heals’. Discover Trevor’s passion for the flora and fauna of the New Forest and how nature helps his wellbeing. The exhibition runs until 10 January 2021.

After taking in the sights of the exhibition, why not head out on a walk into the forest surrounding Lyndhurst (after stocking up on some tea and cake in one of our tea rooms of course!)? Feeling energetic and you could take on the Lyndhurst Parish Walk, an 8.5 mile ramble starting from the village centre or why not pick up a copy of the official New Forest Walking Map for just £2.50 and plan your own adventure? You may even be lucky enough to still spot some of our pannage pigs out and about feasting on the acorns!

Or take on a cycling adventure in the New Forest, and cover even more of our gorgeous woodlands, stunning landscapes and see what wildlife and nature you find along the way. There are over 140 miles of approved off-road cycle paths winding through our wonderful National Park and we have lots of great suggested routes for you to follow!

Planning a wedding? Be sure to check out our New Forest Wedding Showcase

So weddings may be a bit different at the moment, but that doesn’t stop you planning for your big day whenever that may be. On Sunday 15 November, couples are encouraged to come to the New Forest to join us for our next New Forest Wedding Showcase. Ten venues across the beautiful New Forest will open their doors to showcase their beautiful wedding options and help inspire your perfect wedding day with lots of ideas to suit all budgets and tastes. Venues include Balme Lawn Hotel in Brockenhurst, Montagu Arms in Beaulieu and five-star Chewton Glen near to New Milton. Please note, booking is essential for visiting the venues on the day, but you can still visit multiple venues!

Enjoy an autumnal feast in the New Forest

After a busy time exploring, there’s often nothing better than settling down for a rest at a nearby eatery whether that’s for a spot of lunch, a tempting afternoon tea or perhaps dinner combined with an overnight stay. The New Forest is full of unmissable country pubs, lovely restaurants and quaint cafes & tearooms.

Fun events for all the family

Love all things automotive? Then you’ll enjoy the Simply Smart event at Beaulieu on Sunday 8 November, with a whole host of Smart cars to spot. Added to which you can combine your car-spotting with an explore of the National Motor Museum and all of Beaulieu’s associated attractions.

With Christmastime looming soon, Paultons Park’s Christmas event kick starts from 21 November. Come along for twinkling lights and magical illuminations, a brand-new Christmas show, Christmas trees and the opportunity to meet Frosty the Snowman plus Peppa and George pigs dressed up in their Christmas outfits in Peppa Pig World. Tickets are limited in numbers so pre-booking is strongly advised.

Save money on your visit to the New Forest

Following on from the national Eat Out to Help scheme earlier in the year, we are continuing to run Eat Out 4 Less here in the New Forest up until 27 November. Save money at some of our participating restaurants, tea rooms, pubs and cafes. Each offer is valid for at least one day between Monday and Friday.

In addition to this, you can Shop 4 Less with our Go New Forest card, which continues to be half price at just £5 per card. Purchase one of these cards for discounts off a variety of businesses across the New Forest including shops, accommodation, attractions and activities, health and beauty as well as off a number of services found throughout the area. You’ll soon be making savings to cover the cost of your card. So why not make a start on your Christmas shopping early?

Please note, as government advice changes, we strongly recommend checking the latest advice on events and activities prior to your visit to avoid any disappointment.
