Summer is here! A perfect time of year to explore the New Forest. We’ve some top things to do this month including some amazing outdoor adventures and unique experiences.

Love the great outdoors?

Feel the gentle breeze pass you, bask in the sunshine and soak up all the senses of the New Forest. July is an ideal time to explore our 40 miles of coastline, whether that’s pitching up for an outdoor picnic on the beach at Lepe Country Park or heading out onto the water for a spot of stand-up paddle boarding with The New Forest Paddle Sport Company at Milford on sea. You can even take to the waters on various tours being run aboard Steamship Shieldhall throughout the month.

Another way to slow the pace down and take in all of our beautiful countryside is to book onto a sunset paddling tour with New Forest Activities for your chance to navigate your way along the Beaulieu river.

Escape the crowds by getting out and about on foot. We are blessed with many footpaths that criss-cross our heathland, coastline and our forest. Why not take a look at the 40+ walking routes that we feature here on our website to get a taste for what you can see? We have short, family-friendly walks to walks which you would embark on over a few days. Take your pick!

Foodie delights

We pride ourselves on the high quality of our food and drink here in the New Forest. A highlight in the year’s calendar for many a foodie is the annual Lymington Seafood Festival. Held over 16-18 July in Bath Road Park, Lymington, this boutique festival brings together the region’s best food and drink producers, then drizzles it with a lip-smacking dollop of great live music to get the town rocking. What’s more, tickets are only £5 each.

Have you booked a break here already? If so, then be sure to take a look at our local produce and keep your eyes open for businesses displaying the New Forest Marque, it shows their commitment to sustainability and keeping things local.

Calling all petrol heads

Not only can you experience all of the delights of the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu and Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum in the New Forest but there are some great opportunities to bring along your own vehicles to various bike and car meets taking place this July. Even if you don’t have your own bike or particular make or type of car that’s being featured, it’s an ideal time to chat to other owners and fellow motoring enthusiasts. Take a look at our what’s on listings for key dates coming up.
