Summer’s here and there has never been a better time to get out for a cheeky pint in the perfect pub garden. Here in the magical New Forest, we’re blessed with some of the best so, wherever you find yourself, you’ll always be near to somewhere you can pop into for a refreshing drink and something great to eat!

Near Lyndhurst?

The New Forest Inn has a gorgeous covered terrace and a large secret garden. Tucked away in the chocolate box village of Emery Down, you won’t be stuck for choice on what to eat or drink with their amazing local dishes, including their popular new summer menu featuring chargrilled chicken burger and a selection of home-made pies.

Over at Pikes Hill, The Waterloo Arms has a large garden attached to its 17th century thatched building. With an extensive menu, including delicious daily specials, along with beautiful flowers and a peaceful atmosphere in the pub garden.

The Trusty Servant in the village of Minstead, just off the A31, has a huge back garden with plenty of tables, real ales, and a menu featuring crispy halloumi popcorn and Aubergine Parmigiana.

North of Lyndhurst, The Mortimer Arms is a lovely place to relax and grab a refreshing drink or bite to eat, especially after a busy day at Paulton’s Park. Conveniently – for tired parents and carers - it’s located at the Park’s entrance!

It’s further away but worth the travel to The Rockingham Arms north of Lyndhurst, at West Wellow, as they have a beautiful, patioed garden and a menu including such delights as salmon, dill and cream cheese mousse, and Malaysian fish curry.

Near Lymington?

Walhampton Arms is just a short distance from the Georgian market town of Lymington. This stunning pub dates back to the 1800’s, and enjoys a delightful courtyard garden. They serve traditional pub classics with a modern contemporary twist, as well as their fantastic carvery every Sunday and Monday. 

Located down the road from Lymington, in Milford on Sea you’ll find the lovely Lazy Lion. Their sun-trapped beer gardens is the ideal location to catch up with friends and treat yourself to a home cooked meal and a locally brewed beer or a good old G&T!

The Royal Oak, Downton serves a tempting menu, serving dishes including prawn & crayfish mac & cheese, handmade scotch eggs and their famous ‘Downton Burger’. All of which can be enjoyed in their large, secluded garden.

Near New Milton?

The Rising Sun on Bashley Common Road has an idyllic location… right in the middle of the forest and they serve the best traditional country food. Their beautiful large decking in the beer garden is the perfect place to dig in to a delicious meal whilst enjoying the peacefulness of the surroundings. To keep the kids entertained, they also have a fantastic play area so the little ones can let off some steam!

Near Beaulieu?

The Royal Oak at Hilltop on Beaulieu Road, has a sun-trap garden at the back and a delicious seasonal menu and also welcomes horses who have their own corrals to rest in!

Situated nearby Beaulieu, The Bold Forester has a lovely terrace area to relax in during the summer months, with a refreshing drink in hand. For eats, try Thai style mussels, smoked shredded pork spring rolls, Brazilian moqueca-bouillabaisse hake.

Near Burley?

Kick back and enjoy the afternoon at The Burley Inn, in their garden that over looks the beautiful village of Burley. Serving local drinks and pub classics – it’s a great location for outdoor drinking and dining.
