Cosy up in front of some roaring log fires, crunch about in the fallen autumn leaves and plan your days around a range of events and activities. Check out what’s coming up this November in the New Forest!

Get close to nature this November

It may be feeling a little chillier in the air but wrap up warm and head out into the forest to discover some of our amazing flora and fauna. You could choose to do your own walk (we’ve plenty of routes to get you started) or you can book onto one of the walks that forms part of the annual New Forest Walking & Cycling Festival 2021. The festival is running until Sunday 7 November.

Don’t forget to keep an eye out for the New Forest’s pigs – they’ll be out and about roaming the forest floor for fallen acorns as part of the annual pannage until 14 November. And be sure to check out the ever-changing colours of the leaves across the forest and in our gardens at Exbury and Furzey.

Find out about some of the birds that come to the New Forest in the late autumn/early winter on the Winter Bird Walk with Bird Aware Solent on 13 November.

If you’d like to know more about our native species, pop along to the ‘Out and about with the wildlife of the New Forest’ talk at Hulse Hall, Breamore on 26 November.

See the skies awash with colour for fireworks celebrations

Who can forget that November is a busy time for firework displays? Take a look at our website for details of organised firework displays across the New Forest.

Recently engaged?

If you, or someone you know is recently engaged, keep Sunday 21 November free for a selection of hotels hosting Wedding Showcase’s on this day, where they will open their doors to show you what they can offer you for your big day.

Sample some traditional New Forest fare

What better time of year is there than to head to one of our cosy pubs? Treat yourself to some hearty food that warms the soul and wash it down with a pint of something local.

Take a visit to our local farm shops, full of delicious local food and drink, such as Fordingbridge Farm Shop and Sunnyfields Farm Shop.

Start off your Christmas plans

Christmas will soon be around the corner. Begin your Christmas shopping at New Forest Eats ‘n’ Treats, heading to Brockenhurst on Sunday 28 November, where you can find local food, drink, arts and lots of other local produce, making perfect gifts from the New Forest. Also on Sunday 28 November is the Winter Wanderland Christmas Market in Ringwood. With over 50 stalls, a Santa’s grotto, music and much more, you’ll soon be in the festive spirit.
