We are all set for an exciting year ahead with plenty going on in and around the New Forest. Grab your 2022 diary and plan in some fantastic days out from festivals to fairs and plenty of events that you can participate in. Take a look at some of the top events across the year that are set to head to the New Forest in 2022…

January

New Year’s Day Ride In – Saturday 1 January. Pop along to, or of course ride into the Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum for their season opener event. A great excuse to get out and about on your motorbike!

February-March

Look out for events set to take place for February half term (21-25 February) as well as some of our family-friendly attractions, including Paulton’s Park, opening up.

April

BBC Gardeners’ World Spring Fair – Friday 29 April. What better way to inspire your gardening year than by attending this spring event at Beaulieu? This Spring Fair includes Beautiful Borders and The Hillier Experience packed with planting ideas, and stunning floral displays from top nurseries.

Hurst Castle SUP Weekend – Saturday 30 April-Sunday 1 May. The New Forest Paddle Sport Company will be running their Hurst Castle SUP (stand up paddleboard) weekend with Starboard UK. This family-friendly weekend will include tasters and demos, family boarding, polo, racing and much more. The full programme is still to be confirmed but all events will need to be pre-booked.

Spring Auto Jumble – Sunday 1 May. Head along to the Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum for all things auto-related.

Spring Autojumble – Saturday 14-Sunday 15 May. Held at Beaulieu National Motor Museum, the Spring Autojumble is the one-stop-shop for all your classic motoring needs. Whether you are seeking an elusive part for your historic vehicle project, or simply in need of a terrific motoring-themed day out, then mark these dates in your diary!

June

Dogstival – Saturday 4-Sunday 5 June. This popular festival is a must-do for anyone with a dog! Check out the different doggy stands, watch dog agility courses and hear speakers on a variety of dog-related subjects. Your four-legged friend is a very welcomed visitor to this festival.

Hot Rod and Custom Show – Sunday 19 June. The south’s biggest Hot Rod and Custom show returns on Father's Day to Beaulieu. Featuring hundreds of cool, colourful, custom cars, live music and hip entertainment throughout the day!

July

SS Shieldhall – Extended Cruise – Sunday 3 July. Southampton's Heritage Steamship SS Shieldhall will be running an extended cruise to view Hurst Castle from The Solent. Look out for early-bird offers on their website.

Lymington Seafood Festival – Friday 15-Sunday 17 July. This popular foodie festival is set to return in the summer. With a variety of stalls offering different seafood delights as well as cookery demonstrations, live music and street performances. Tickets are available to book now.

British Bike Bonanza – Sunday 17 July – Celebrate British bikes at the Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum.

New Forest & Hampshire County Show – Tuesday 26-Thursday 28 July. One of the biggest events in the New Forest calendar, this show celebrates the New Forest’s local culture with a packed timetable of animal displays, live music, family fun and cookery demonstrations. Be sure to check out the shopping pavilions which feature local artisans, food and drink, antiques and more.

August

Beaulieu Supercar Weekend – Saturday 6-Sunday 7 August. This is a must-see family spectacular that brings some of the world’s most exclusive and desirable cars to Beaulieu.

Ellingham & Ringwood Show – Saturday 13 August. An agricultural show with main arena displays, food and drink and shopping opportunities. After being cancelled in 2021, this show is set to return to Somerley Park in 2022.

SS Shieldhall – Extended Cruise – Sunday 21 August. Southampton's Heritage Steamship SS Shieldhall will be running an extended cruise to view The Needles, with a commentary on the cruise telling the history of the New Forest coastline.

September

International Autojumble – Saturday 10-Sunday 11 September. The biggest outdoor sale of motoring items this side of the Atlantic is set to return to Beaulieu. This long-awaited weekend of automotive enjoyment will bring together all manner of motoring spares, automobilia and historic vehicles for sale, with hundreds of stands to browse in the busy event fields. Don’t forget to check out the rest of the National Motor Museum whilst you are here too!

Pannage season – mid-September onwards. Usually from mid-September (depending on the weather) pigs are released into the forest as part of pannage season. This tradition dates back centuries and was established to protect the ponies and cattle from eating fallen acorns (which are poisonous to them). The dates for 2022’s pannage season are yet to be announced but keep an eye on our website and social media for details nearer the time.

October

New Forest Walking and Cycling Festival – Usually taking place from mid-October - early November. Join in with a variety of guided walks and bike rides and explore areas of our National Park that perhaps you haven’t been to before. The full programme and dates for 2022 are yet to be announced.

November-December

Look out for a busy couple of months with Fireworks Night events and of course, lots of festive fun in the lead up to Christmas. Keep an eye on our events listings for what’s coming in 2022.
