It’s time to get planning for February half term! There’s lots of exciting ways to entertain your children here in the New Forest. Take a look at some our half-term inspiration below…

Days out for all the family

We’ve got some big days out to be had here, including high-adrenalin fun at Paultons Park. The Park is open for the whole of February half-term so why not book tickets and see if you can conquer rides including The Flight of the Pterosaur and The Edge? Younger visitors in your group will love Peppa Pig World, with opportunities to meet characters as well as rides geared for little ones.

Plan a day out to Beaulieu for a chance to see a wealth of cars at the National Motor Museum, celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2022. Children will also love adventure playground, Little Beaulieu, which is set within the grounds.

Why not embark on a family cycling day? Hire bikes from one of our cycle hire centres and take yourselves on an off-road adventure through the forest. Take a look at some of our suggested cycling routes or ask the hire centre for their recommendations. We strongly suggest booking bikes in advance to avoid any disappointment.

Sticking with the outdoors theme, New Forest Activities have plenty of fun to be had. Pick from their winter activities including archery, winter paddling and laser tag. Again, pre-booking is strongly recommended.

You will also find plenty to do at Calshot Activity Centre. With adventures including skiing, snowboarding or ringoing on the dry slope, climbing and even cycling in the velodrome.

Children’s events

Join in with daily fun and hand-on experiences at Longdown Activity Farm. Activities include bottle-feeding calves and goats, tractor and trailer rides (subject to the weather conditions) and animal encounters.

Keep a look out on our What’s On pages for events to be added for half term. Events are added regularly so do keep checking back.

Relaxed food and drink options

You’ll find plenty of cafes, pubs, restaurants and tea rooms that cater for families. Whether it’s children’s menus, the supply of highchairs or pubs with play areas. Browse our family-friendly places to eat and drink for some inspiration.

Family-friendly breaks

We’ve got a lot to see and do here and one day isn’t nearly enough. Why not book a short break or a week-long stay and make the most of the holidays?

Look out for week-long stays at some of our holiday parks, where you can also enjoy some of the parks’ facilities such as indoor pools, evening entertainment and children’s activities.

Or perhaps look at a holiday cottage – we’ve plenty that are family-friendly and have facilities such as games to play and that offer things such as direct access to the forest (great for walks or cycles) or are a short distance from the seaside. Okay, it may be February but there’s still lots of fun to be had by the seaside!

We also have a huge choice of family-friendly hotels and bed & breakfasts in the New Forest as well.

We also recommend that you keep an eye on our last-minute offers for late availability and special offers too.

We’d like to wish you all some enjoyable times ahead in the New Forest and we look forward to seeing you soon!
