This ride is mainly on Forestry England managed gravel tracks, although the last 0.5 mile is on a quiet lane. This is a medium level route, with some hills.
The route starts in Lyndhurst, the 'Capital' of the New Forest. Where you'll find fantastic pubs, tearooms, local shops and even the church where, in the churchyard, lies the grave of Alice Liddell, Lewis Carroll's inspiration for 'Alice in Wonderland'. The route ends up at Hatchet Pond, the largest body of water on the open forest. This is a beautifully scenic location, perfect for a picnic.
