Travelling to the New Forest by public transport need not be a problem. Take a look below as we show the various ways you can travel to the New Forest.

Rail

The New Forest can be reached by train from London Waterloo in just 90 minutes. Many of our stations are on mainline routes and connect up the area from nearby towns including Southampton and Bournemouth.

Catch a train from station to station and venture across the whole of the New Forest. We have 8 train stations in the New Forest. You can find them in the following locations:

  • Ashurst
  • Beaulieu Road
  • Brockenhurst
  • Hinton Admiral
  • Lymington
  • New Milton
  • Sway
  • Totton

Please note, wild camping is not permitted in the New Forest.

Bus

There are regular National Express coach services from London Victoria (via Heathrow airport) to RingwoodClick here to visit the National Express website for timetables and prices.

The New Forest is served by a public bus network, New Forest Tour, which provides the opportunity to travel around the area by bus.

Ferry

Travel to and from Hythe from Southampton on the Hythe Ferry. Or travel with Wightlink to get to and from Lymington and the Isle of Wight.
