About

Join our fire crew for our annual all day fire cooking experience.

You will learn elements of the premium ingredients we use, butchery, fire starting and management, asado style cooking and food photography.

The days schedule:

9.30 - 10.00am Arrive to our woodland location for welcome ice coffee and a fire cooked breakfast 

10.30am Introduction to asado cooking and fire starting - raise pork belly on cross 

11.00am Understanding different meats and how to cook over fire 

11.30am Hanger steak butchery - what to look for, how to prepare 

12.00noon Hanger steak canapé 

12.30pm Understanding our process for cooking chicken 

1.00pm Lunch of chicken

2.30pm Understanding our process for cooking lamb and pork 

3.00pm Pork belly canapé 

3.30pm Understanding fire, coal, wood, the tastes of different types of wood 

4.00pm Whole lamb butchery, learn how to break down an entire beast ready for the feast 

4.30pm Lamb taster course dinner to enjoy in the clearing or take home, photography lesson/competition 

Our menu

Breakfast - Sausage & Bacon with iced coffee

Canapé - Hanger steak and woodland mushrooms, seared in teriyaki with sea salt and coriander.

Lunch - Free range chicken smoked in our special wrought iron baskets for over 3 hours, finished on the charcoal grill. Our signature dish has a beautiful deep garlic and chilli flavour and is basted throughout the cook with the finest mix of salt, oils, herbs and spices, with summer salad, sweet coleslaw and tomato salsa.

Canapé - Pork belly, slow cooked on our cross for four hours glazed with soy, lemon, honey and spices. With bean sprouts, cucumber, cress, scallion, parsley and toasted sesame seed salad.

Dinner - Slow cooked tender lamb, hung over our fire for over 8 hours, basted with our special blend of herbs and spices throughout the cook, served in a sweet barbecue sauce.

Alongside these meats we will serve and explain the preparation process for all our side dishes.  Food will be accompanied by a selection of premium alcoholic and non-alcoholic pairing drinks.

Ritual Feast is off grid, open air pop up restaurant in a beautiful location. Our location is secret until two weeks before the event when you will receive the address and directions.

Please arrive from 9.30am onwards depending on how much time you would like to enjoy the surrounding. We aim to begin the class from 10.30am. Our restaurants are usually outside without cover so please bring suitable clothing for warmth & appropriate footwear, especially if there has been recent rain.

We cannot make substitutions or leave out individual ingredients, but we can cater to all dietary and allergy requirements. Due to the nature of how we cook and the equipment required we must know in advance, so please contact us to let us know. We cannot cater for vegetarians at this class.

Our fire cooking session is reasonably long and tailored towards adults.

We restrict the age of alcohol served and reserve the right to ask for ID for anyone under the age of 21.

We aim to begin the food service as you arrive. Due to this we may not be able to accommodate missed courses for latecomers but we will always do our best!

Our seating is in rustic woodland surroundings on uneven ground, please take the utmost care with your seating and walking around our site.

You will find suntan lotion & insect repellent located in our toilet if required.

Unfortunately dogs or pets are not permitted.
 

If the weather is not on our side we may take the decision to cancel the event the day before.  In this instance you will be given a full refund or a rebooking for a future event.
