About Go New Forest
Go New Forest is a “not for profit” Community Interest Company set up to manage and develop tourism in the New Forest National Park and the wider district. Our unique organisation is there to help local tourism and visitor economy businesses make the most of their own promotional opportunities whilst contributing to the collective effort of Go New Forest’s 220 members in providing great experiences for all visitors to the New Forest.
Set up in April 2017 with the help and support of New Forest District Council, New Forest National Park Authority and the Forestry Commission, Go New Forest replaces the previous destination partnership of New Forest Tourism Association ( now disbanded ) and New Forest District Council’s tourism service ( now defunct ).
Go New Forest’s Business Plan is founded on the VERB model of destination management which puts “forest first” tourism at the heart of all its activities. Go New Forest and its 220 plus member businesses will therefore champion the mutuality between the needs and demands of Visitors, Environment, Residents and Businesses. In doing so we will work closely with everybody, especially businesses in the wider local economy and our towns and villages to promote the commercial and natural attributes of the New Forest to its residents, day visitors and staying visitors.
The overall aim of Go New Forest is to market the New Forest as a high quality destination in collaboration with all, to enhance its special environment and grow local business by inspiring people from the United Kingdom and throughout the world to visit all year round.
A key component of this approach is therefore for Go New Forest to play the leading role in developing the economic, social and environmental benefits of tourism and particularly our contribution to improving the quality of all local life.
