Asparagus growing season is from April to June each year.

On warm days, you can actually see asparagus growing up to 7 inches in a single day - but before it’s harvested, asparagus can spend up to 3 years in the ground before it is fully matured and ready to be picked and eaten.

Many of our local farms grow asparagus, including Cat & Fiddle Farm and Sopley Farm

You can buy locally grown asparagus directly from the shops at these farms and from other local shops and greengrocers across the New Forest. You can also try local asparagus in delightful summer dishes at restaurants and pubs in the New Forest too.

Sample our fresh, local produce on a visit here to the New Forest. You will be surprised by just how many culinary treats you will find!
