Day 1 – Market Town Moments
Start your northern Forest escape in Ringwood, an historic market town on the edge of the Forest. Pick up local goodies at the market (Wednesdays), explore the shops, visit The Furlong, and enjoy coffee and cake at one of the many local cafes.
Drive to nearby Rockford Common for a circular walk through open heathland with sweeping views. Lunch at Hockey’s Farm at their Farmyard Cafe is a must, make sure you visit the farm animals and their on-site farm shop while you’re there. Then head north to Fordingbridge, where the River Avon weaves through the heart of the town. Explore the independent shops of this riverside town. Or, if you're feeling adventurous, stop off on the way to Fordingbridge at New Forest Water Park and enjoy their aqua park or try out cableboarding or paddleboarding.
Check into a self-catering lodge or popular Sandy Balls Holiday Village. Dinner at The Fighting Cocks, overlooking the open forest where ponies and donkeys roam, rounds off the day beautifully.
Day 2 – Woodlands & Wildlife
Start your day with a peaceful walk at Ashley Walk, where you’ll see the beautiful sweeping views for miles and birdsong fills the air. Head east toward Bramshaw, stopping off at The Lamb Inn for a laid-back lunch and a proper forest pub experience.
Finish your visit with a gentle stroll around Bramshaw, visiting Rufus Stone, or stop by Furzey Gardens on your route south, where fairy doors and blooming borders add a magical final touch to your northern Forest adventure.
