New Forest Shopping

Shopping in the New Forest offers you a fabulous choice from independent art galleries and antiques to craft shops, local produce and designer clothes shops, there are plenty of places to keep even the most extreme shopaholic satisfied! Take a look around some of our towns and villages and you will find a wide range of places to shop; Lymington’s High Street is an ideal spot for shopping. The Georgian street is lined with independent shops and boutiques as well as some of the High Street favourites. There are also regular markets bringing with them many stalls selling local produce, fresh fruit and vegetables, furniture, clothing and jewellery.

Take a stroll around the centre of Hythe for a range of shops and restaurants, plus great views over the Southampton water or visit Ringwood with its popular Furlong Centre, home to High Street stores including Fat Face, Joules and Whistles.

Delight your taste buds

For those with a sweet tooth, or if you are looking for a gift for a loved one there are some tempting treats on offer here in the New Forest. In Beaulieu village, there's a delightful Chocolate Studio where traditional chocolates and contemporary designed chocolates are handcrafted.  

In the village of Burley, the Burley Fudge Shop is well-worth a visit. Homemade fudge is on offer here with a tempting range of flavours including vanilla, rum and raisin and chocolate, plus ‘fudge of the month’. The shop also has vegan and sugar alternative fudges plus a range of other sweet treats such as Turkish Delight.

At Bakehouse24 in Ringwood, you will be tempted by their homemade cakes and pastries as well as the range of fresh artisan breads.

Discover a variety of farm shops in the New Forest. Hockey’s Farm Shop at South Gorley, near Fordingbridge is another great place to stop to pick up supplies. All of the meat sold at the farm is either their own, or produced by Andrew, the farm shop’s family friend in St. Ives (just outside Ringwood), or simply sourced with the utmost care. The shop stocks everyday provisions including milk, eggs and locally-baked bread as well as fresh fruit and vegetables. A great place to visit if you are here for a self-catering break. Alternatively, sample some of the produce onsite by visiting the Farmyard Café and say hello to the farmyard animals including Lulu the donkey.

Looking for that perfect drink to accompany a meal you are making then why not pick up some New Forest Cider? The cider is available to purchase from the New Forest Cider shop in Burley and visitors can try the various ciders straight from the barrel.

Not only will you find fantastic locally produced items, such as soaps, at Minstead Community Shop but you'll also find a huge array of delicious local food and drink, from your basic essentials to goodies including cheeses, jams and even smoked trout! 

For locally-produced wines, make a trip to the Setley Ridge Vineyard, on the outskirts of Brockenhurst. Grapes are grown onsite and the wine is made and bottled here too. Not only can visitors join on vineyard tours, they can buy bottles from the farm shop.

Garden Centres

There are several garden centres to be found here in the New Forest. In Beaulieu, Fairweather’s Garden Centre stocks high quality garden plants, plus giftware, accessories and furniture. Look out for events for the family here as well including summer craft activities and free gardening courses.

Setley Ridge (which is also home to the vineyard mentioned above) has its own garden centre which has been established for thirty years.

Take your piece of the New Forest home from Shallowmead Nurseries, trusted growers of shrubs, trees and grasses in the New Forest since 1947.

In Alderholt, near Fordingbridge, Wolvercroft World of Plants Garden Centre is a two-acre nursery with large shop and Everton Nurseries Garden Centre, near Lymington is an independently-owned garden centre.

On the outskirts of New Milton, you will find Redcliffe Garden Centre with the Potting Shed Tea Rooms and in Cadnam, Wyevale’s Cadnam Garden Centre is on offer with a variety of plants for your garden.

New Forest Gift Shops

With fantastic gift shops in all of our Towns & Villages you are sure to find that perfect souvenir to remember your New Forest holiday whether staying for a week or just visiting for the day. Attractions including National Motor Museum in BeaulieuPaultons Park, Home of Peppa Pig World and the New Forest Heritage Centre all have their own gift shops, with many products locally made.

Alternatively, have a browse around the gift shops and independent stores that can be found in BurleyFordingbridgeRingwoodLymington and Lyndhurst.

There are several art galleries where you can purchase artwork for your home. Galleries include:

Clothing and jewellery shops

If you are looking to add to your wardrobe whilst here on holiday in the New Forest, or you simply fancy a browse then Lymington makes a great shopping destination. Not only can you take a stroll around the pretty boutiques that line the main High Street, there are also plenty of cafes and tea rooms to rest your weary legs afterwards!

Tweedy Clothing at The Yew Tree create items that are sustainable, ethical and practical. All of their clothes are designed in house by founders Josh & Cacey, then skilfully handmade by their friend Raj and his incredible team in India. 

The Furlong Centre in the heart of Ringwood is another great place for clothes shopping. You will find several High Street names here.

Outdoor, sports and leisure shops

With the New Forest being such an outdoors area, understandably there are plenty of places for you to pick up those forgotten items or outdoor essentials. For all things bike, head to The Woods Cyclery in Lyndhurst, where you will find a huge choice of accessories, tools and a great selection of bikes too. Also in Lyndhurst, you'll find Leisure Fayre, an outdoor superstore, great for camping accessories, outdoor clothing and footwear and shopping for your pooch!

You’ll find also find cycling shops in New Milton, Hythe and near Ashurst and fishing tackle shops in Ringwood, New Milton, Milford-on-sea and near Hythe. Some of the garden centres in the New Forest also have sections with outdoor ware.
