Easter in the New Forest brings a variety of family-friendly events set within the area’s beautiful natural surroundings. Visitors can enjoy traditional Easter egg hunts at attractions and heritage sites, along with wildlife trails that guide families through gardens, farms and woodland spaces while discovering more about the animals and habitats of the New Forest. Many venues also host craft activities, animal encounters and outdoor adventures, making it easy to spend the Easter holidays exploring the landscape, spotting wildlife and enjoying seasonal events across the New Forest.

Things to Do with Kids During Easter

There is lots of special events during the Easter holidays, giving families plenty of opportunities to enjoy the season outdoors.

At Beaulieu, visitors can explore the National Motor Museum’s newly transformed entrance and the brand-new Driven: Britain’s Motoring Story gallery, while following a car-themed Top Trumps trail and enjoying extra family activities over the Easter weekend.

Insight Activities offers woodland archery, axe throwing and crossbow experiences set among the spring bluebells.

New Forest Activities is running an archery tournament with Easter-themed challenges and families can also take to the water on a canoe Easter egg hunt along the Beaulieu River, combining riverside exploration with a fun Easter adventure.

Over at Furzey Gardens, children can follow a magical Easter trail through the gardens to help the fairies check their egg baskets and collect a chocolate prize.

Springtime Walks & Wildlife Experiences

Spring is one of the most rewarding times to explore the New Forest on foot. As the landscape comes to life with fresh greenery, birdsong and colourful wildflowers, walking routes across woodland, heathland and coast offer the chance to slow down and soak up the season.
