New Forest Eats ‘n’ Treats Christmas shopping and entertainment event at Brockenhurst College in association with Go New Forest and New Forest Marque – 20 Nov, 11am – 4pm
Christmas shoppers can browse and purchase an array of unique, locally-produced, artisan products, as well as enjoy a mix of lively entertainment, by attending New Forest Eats ‘n’ Treats at Brockenhurst College on Sunday 20 November.
Now in its fourth year, the annual event is a joint venture between Brockenhurst College, Go New Forest and New Forest Marque.
Between 11.00am and 4.00pm, more than 60 stall holders will present and retail goods, including food & drink and arts & crafts, making this year’s Eats ‘n’ Treats Christmas shopping extravaganza the biggest yet.
Stalls will set up in the College’s Main Hall, while mobile catering outlets, serving a wide variety of hot food, will set up on the nearby Staff Lawn and in the College’s cafeteria. Meanwhile, a licensed bar run by Beachcomber Gin will be on-hand to bring added Christmas cheer by meeting the needs of thirsty shoppers.
Live music will come courtesy of student bands, a Southampton-based ukulele group, and the cast of Brockenhurst College’s upcoming production of Soho Cinders. Face-painting, Christmas decoration-making and writing-to-Santa activities will also be available to keep children amused.
Plus, there will be food preparation and craft demonstrations from well-known local producers, including top chefs and cottage industry experts. All food demonstrations will take place in the College’s popular, onsite, fine-dining restaurant, known as MJ’s.
One will be led by Balmer Lawn Hotel Executive Head Chef Andrew Gault, with Bartley Lodge Head Chef Nigel Cole taking charge for another. In addition, Vanessa Richardson of Couture Cakes will lead a cake decorating demonstration.
Craft demonstrations will include lampshade and Christmas lantern making by Zoe Doughty, Christmas water colour painting by Helen Talbot, and a needle felt demonstration by Frances Mason.
Head of Marketing and Communications at Brockenhurst College, Rebekah Donawa, said: “Eats ‘n’ Treats is our big Christmas event that sees us throw open our doors to people and businesses from across our area.
“It’s an ideal opportunity to sample outstanding local produce, enjoy live music, watch expert demonstrations, and also pick up unique Christmas gifts that you won’t see in the shops.”
Onsite parking will be provided without charge, while entry will cost £2.00 for adults and children will be welcomed FREE.
There is no need to book in advance – visitors can just turn up on the day.
Please note that Brockenhurst College is a smoke-free, vape-free, dog-free zone.
