Supporting access for all into the beautiful New Forest using our large fleet of specialist cycles!
At PEDALL we are passionate about two things. 1. Providing access to the New Forest for all, no matter what barrier people may face. 2. Improving health, happiness, and well-being through our inclusive cycle rides.
Inclusive Cycling in the New Forest National Park started in 2011, when a small number of specialist bikes were purchased, and local school groups met in the New Forest car parks to cycle with the help of the New Forest National Park Authority.
Fast forward over 13 years, and with generous support from the Lottery Community Fund and a dedicated team, PEDALL (a partnership between the New Forest National Park Authority and charity Friends of PEDALL charity no.1177795) now offer inclusive guided rides on the off-road cycle paths from two bases in Burley and Ashurst. We also share our knowledge through training programs for young people with special educational needs (SEN), offer free bike safety checks at a weekly drop-in service at our PEDALL Community Hub, and run ‘social rides’ for those that want help and encouragement to get back on two wheels.
Gareth Jones, Operational Manager, has been a driving force in the development of PEDALL since 2017, delivering fun and relaxed rides for thousands of riders, with the support of our dedicated, compassionate volunteering team.
Our extensive fleet of cycles, many of which are power assisted, support a diverse and wide range of accessibility needs. Our cycle fleet enables us to fulfil our aim, making the New Forest National Park accessible to all.
