Autumn may be just around the corner, but we still have plenty of Summer days left for you to have a fabulous day out! We have some up with some ideas for you to enjoy a fun-filled day out in the New Forest
Day out choice 1: Brockenhurst – Keyhaven – Lymington.
Ø Start the day with a delicious, hearty breakfast from The Buttery Brock & Bruin, to keep you going for a busy day.
Ø Catch the New Forest Tour Bus from Brockenhurst Train Station – make sure you go up to the open top and enjoy the beautiful views across the New Forest!
Ø Hop off at Hurst Castle. Explore the wonderful sites in and around the Castle – and chill out at the Seaside.
(A quick tip to make your day even better: every guest on the New Forest Tour will receive a ‘temporary’ Brand New Forest Card – you can use it at Hurst Castle & get a great discount!)
Ø Hop back on the New Forest Tour and take the quick trip to Lymington High Street, where you will need to get off the Bus. If you have time for some retail therapy, Lymington has an interesting selection of shops to tempt you!
Ø Take a blissful scroll down to The Mayflower and enjoy a delightful meal! (They have a great kids’ menu too).
Day out choice 2: Lyndhurst – Ower – (Bramshaw).
Ø First things first, pack a picnic! Why don’t you go into Lyndhurst High Street and get some tasty local food from the lovely shops and bakeries?
Ø Head to Boltons Bench, Lyndhurst for a peaceful morning wander through the Forest.
Ø Make your way back to the car & guess where is next… the amazing Paultons Park, home of Peppa Pig world!
Ø You’re guaranteed to have a fantastic day, whisking around on the rides, meeting Peppa Pig & Friends, or for the more adventurous exploring The Lost Kingdom, and make sure you try out the cool 4D Cinema too!
Ø After your day of fun & laughter you will definitely be in need of a big, delicious, hearty meal & a refreshing drink… stop off at The Mortimer Arms – which is fantastically located just at the exit of Paultons Park, on your left-hand side. Or, if you fancy going somewhere a short drive away from Paultons Park, try The Bell Inn at Bramshaw!
Day out choice 3: Lepe – Exbury – Beaulieu/Brockenhurst.
Ø Wake up and get some fresh air on a beach walk at Lepe Country Park.
Ø Then make your way up the road to Exbury Gardens.
Ø There is something for everyone at Exbury Gardens, from their world-famous rhododendrons and azaleas, the wonderful riverside walk, the steam railway & much more. Grab a quick snack and drink at Mr Eddy’s Tea Rooms during your visit.
Ø Book an afternoon activity at New Forest Activities! The ‘Paddle to the Pub’ is always a great one, but they have loads of activities to choose from, for all ages and abilities. Or, if you’re feeling slightly tired after a morning of walking, why don’t you try Cyclexperience’s E-Bike Hire in Brockenhurst!
Ø Fuel up after a day of walking, exploring and taking part in a fun-filled activity. You have a great choice of dinner locations from here… you could either head to Master Builders Hotel (this is where you will end up on your Paddle to the Pub), stroll to Montagu Arms Hotel, or take a quick drive to Balmer Lawn or New Park Manor. Any choice you make will be delicious!
Day out choice 4: Burley – Fordingbridge.
Ø Fancy a bike ride? Hire a bike from Forest Leisure in Burley and go out and explore the New Forest on bike.
Ø When you’re ready for a tasty lunch, head to Burley Manor and enjoy a wonderful menu of Mediterranean-inspired tapas, or try out the Cider Pantry.
Ø Now for a really fun activity… you will want to make your way to New Forest Water Park for loads of fun, splashing and laughter!
Ø I’m sure by this time you will need to sit down and chill out. Good news – Sandy Balls or The Three Lions are just up the road! Enjoy a drink, some food and relax!
