Get planning for an April adventure to the New Forest, we have plenty to see and do here. Embark on some of our countryside walks, take in the views and explore some of our attractions. Here are some highlights for you to enjoy this April…
Hone your inner James Bond
If you are a big car enthusiast, then pop the following events being run at the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu in your diary: 3 April - Simply Aston Martin, 10 April - Simply Audi, 24 April - Simply Italian. Check out the amazing cars brought along by car owners and enthusiasts whilst making time to explore the museum itself. A highlight at the moment is also the Bond in Motion – No Time To Die exhibition which runs until November 2022. This exhibition includes nine iconic vehicles, gadgets and costumes from the latest 007 film.
Love your garden?
If you love to garden then a must-do this month is a trip to the BBC Gardeners’ World event at Beaulieu, which is being run from 29 April – 1 May. This springtime show includes Beautiful Borders and The Hillier Experience packed with planting ideas, and stunning floral displays from top nurseries.
Need more garden inspiration? Why not make a visit to some of the New Forest’s gardens as well? You’ll find our gardens are adorned with spring flowers and are ready to be explored.
Easter and family-friendly events
We’ve plenty to see and do over the Easter holidays. If you are looking for events taking place over the Easter weekend, or you are simply after some inspiration on what to do this Eastertime then take a read of our recent Easter blog.
There is also lots of school holiday and weekend fun for the children to be had throughout April including the new BRICKOSAURS! Evolution exhibition at Marwell Zoo. Showcasing over 20 dinosaur species made using more than 2 million toy bricks, this exhibition will be a delight for young and old.
For an active day out, book your child (ages 8+) onto a Tree Top Trail Adventure at the Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Centre, Bransgore. This exciting new Tree Top Trail will take you to new heights as you make your way across various obstacles and zip line through the trees. There are various dates on offer throughout April.
Plan an active break to the New Forest
The New Forest is perfect for outdoor adventures. With miles and miles of footpaths resulting in fantastic walks, some excellent cycle routes and opportunities to explore the woodland, heathland and our coastline.
If you love taking to the water then Hurst Castle Stand Up Paddle Board Event is worth noting. Running on 30 April-1 May, this event offers a range of activities to suit everyone from novice to seasoned paddler! See the New Forest from a whole different angle whilst on a stand-up paddle board!
Enjoy some live music
Stay in the New Forest and plan an evening out at one of our live music concerts or gigs. There’s plenty going on at Forest Arts Centre in New Milton including Green Room Live (7 April) which brings with it the best of local talent.
On 28 April, South Lawn Hotel in Milford on Sea will be hosting a Big Band Night, a free gig held in the hotel’s Cornwallis Suite.
