Those frosty mornings may be here but there is no better a place to spend exploring than the New Forest in the winter months. Think long, brisk walks, warming cups of tea and popping your feet up in front of a roaring log fire. And all this just 80 miles from London!

Calling all 007 lovers
If you love a good Bond film then be sure to check out the Bond in Motion – No Time to Die exhibition currently running at the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu. The exhibition features some of the cars, gadgets and costumes from the most recent film. Whilst here, take time to explore the rest of Beaulieu’s extensive car collection and plan a visit to the grounds around Palace House.

Avoid the crowds of summer and make time off-season to discover some of the New Forest’s gems. New Forest Discovery Walks run by Wild New Forest will be running walks on selected dates in February to explore Lymington, Lyndhurst and Wilverley. If you aren’t familiar with these areas then this is a great opportunity to find out more. Plus, even if those areas are familiar to you, you are sure to find out something new, plus get an enjoyable walk out of it too!

Take in a tranquil visit to Furzey Gardens
Furzey Gardens is open daily throughout February (please note, the tearooms and toilets are closed until 18 February) for a chance to stroll around these pretty gardens in their centenary year and spot early spring flowers.
Soak up the culture with our exhibitions, theatre and more
You may not initially associate the New Forest with the arts but there’s plenty to see and do here.
Running up until 27 February, The New Forest Heritage Centre in Lyndhurst will be showcasing an Impressions Exhibition featuring the works of three Hampshire printmakers.
Lymington’s St Barbe Museum and Art Gallery is set to host The 62 Group of Textile Artists art exhibition until 26 February. It’ll be the first time that this exhibition has come to Lymington so be sure to take a look.
Adding to the cultural events, Forest Arts Centre has a whole host of activities taking place throughout February including comedy nights, workshops, folk music and more. Browse their full programme to see what’s on when you plan on visiting.
Book yourself a pub break
Whether you fancy staying in a pub with rooms, or simply booking a meal out, rest those tired legs after a busy day’s adventures in the New Forest by cosying up in front of a real fireplace with some fine, local food and drink. February half term
