Community Shops
We're all about supporting local here in the New Forest, we even have a few community shops dotted around the area!
Community shops are shops located in towns and villages that are run/owned by members of that community, both in shares of the shops and in working and helping run the shop.
Minstead Community Shop has been run by a team of local volunteers since June 2020. They can help with local information, as well as being a place where you can grab a hot drink and slice of locally made cake and a place where you can purchase lots of essential items and local produce too, including ice cream, soaps, cheese, jams and lots more. They also stock lovely garden plants, local gifts and cards.
East Boldre Community Stores is a stunning, refurbished location, offering delicious local produce, everyday groceries and an abundance of location information about the surrounding area.
Another local community shop is Pilley Community Shop, a village shop and post office which is run by the community, offering a wide range of local produce and essential items. Being a post office is also great for the locals too.
Woodgreen Community Shop is also a well-established shop which is run by the local community. Woodgreen Community Shop is also a Post Office and stocks many items, including local produce, bread, newspapers, homemade cakes, cards, arts & crafts and lots more. They also have outdoor and indoor seating, where you can enjoy a tea or coffee on site.
