It’s time to start planning your Easter break. Only next month, Easter has crept up quickly on us! Whether you are planning on visiting the New Forest as a family group, or just the two of you, there’s plenty to see and do whilst you are here.
Booking your Easter stay
Maximise the time you have to explore the New Forest over Easter by booking a week-long break or booking out the whole of the Easter weekend.
Bookings over the Easter break are going quickly but you will still find some late availability on a variety of accommodation. At the time of writing, Cottage Lodge Hotel in Brockenhurst still has rooms available in its family-run eco-chic boutique hotel and four-star Bed & Breakfast, Kingswood Cottage, with its quiet location in Ashurst also has space. If you’d prefer to book a self-catering break, then Hackney Park, which is just two miles from the heart of the New Forest at Lymington and Glengariff in Landford (really handy for visiting nearby Peppa Pig World) both still have availability.
Many of our campsites and touring parks will have also opened for the 2022 season so secure your pitch today by checking availability.

Discover a wealth of things to do this Easter
Well where to start? The New Forest is well-known for its countryside so we’d highly recommend you explore it in which ever way you prefer. Whether cycling, walking or even horse riding, there are countless options available. We’ve extensive heathland, woodland and even coastline for you to enjoy.
Take a wander through some of the New Forest’s towns and villages to pick up your Easter essentials or for a treat or two.
Some of our big-name attractions include the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu (don’t miss the current Bond in Motion: No Time to Die exhibition), Buckler’s Hard historic maritime village and ever-popular with families, Paultons Park and Peppa Pig World.
Exbury Gardens will be awash with colour from the spring flowers, explore it on foot before hopping abord the miniature steam railway which will whisk you around parts of the grounds – a highlight for visitors young and old!
Eggsiting Easter events
Fancy an Easter egg hunt with a difference? Enjoy an egg-cellent guided paddle with New Forest Activities, along the Beaulieu River in 'Canadian style' canoes. Spend time taking in the stunning scenery of the river before disembarking for an Easter egg hunt with a twist! Hunt high and low as your little ones search for those hidden chocolate eggs along the riverside. Then, you'll enjoy another beautiful scenic paddle back to base.
At the Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Centre, in Bransgore, there will be an Easter Activity Trail running on Easter Sunday (17 April). Two-hour sessions include activities such as; climbing, archery, pioneering, face painting and much more! Plus, this is all for just £8 per child, with accompanying adults going free.
Longdown Activity Farm is a great place for younger visitors, with daily animal feeding sessions throughout the Easter holidays whereas older children will love the play areas and trailways of Moors Valley Country Park. Look out for seasonal events taking place with the Park’s rangers.
For a unique New Forest experience, take one of the walks at Bolderwood and head to the deer-feeding platform. The Fallow deer are fed daily from April-September between 12.30pm and 2.30pm (when a ranger is free).
We are expecting more Easter events to be announced, so please do keep an eye on the what’s on area of our website for more information.
