If you are taking part, there are so many options of places to go and food to eat in the New Forest!
Restaurants with vegan options
We are home to many restaurants in the New Forest, from restaurants offering a selection of cuisines from around the world to fine dining restaurants, and you will find many superb plant-based options on their menus.
Lime Wood is home to two fantastic eateries, both with vegan options. Firstly, they have their dedicated healthy-eating restaurant, Raw & Cured. At this colourful restaurant, you’ll find a huge choice of vegan options on their healthy eating menu, serving food & drinks from morning to night. Or, in their main hotel restaurant, Hartnett & Holder, you’ll find Italian vegan delights such as roasted celeriac salad to start and gnocchi for main.
The Pig, is wild about local produce, making it the perfect place to try out some delicious local vegan food. There are many meals on their menu which can be enjoyed as either a starter or main, you may find options such as pear salad or beetroot soup.
There are also vegan options at all 3 of the restaurants located at Careys Manor Hotel in Brockenhurst. At The Cambium, Jerusalem artichoke risotto or celeriac, quinoa and chestnut mushroom wellington are often on the menu. At The Zen Garden, options may include Poh Piah Tord spring rolls and Khee Mao drunken noodles. At Le Blaireau, you may find a Tarte aux Tomates Cerise cherry tomato tart or Pithivier de Champignons chestnut mushroom and leek puff pastry tart on the French-inspired menu.
Nearby Balmer Lawn Hotel have a tasty chargrilled watermelon mushroom salad to start and a mouth-watering curried cauliflower for main. Also in Brockenhurst, New Park Manor Hotel have great vegan choices on their restaurant menu, these may include beetroot baba ghanoush, crudites and a tempting garden burger with vegan mayo. Another great place to go in Brockenhurst is Forest Park Hotel, their wonderful restaurant has vegan options, these may include menu choices such as roasted cauliflower and maple-glazed hasselback squash.
You’ll find vegan options at The Montagu Arm’s Terrace Restaurant, including roasted cauliflower. At Chewton Glen Hotel, you may find options such as salt-baked heritage beetroot or a plant-based alternative to their vegetable & paneer Thai red curry.
The Italian inspired restaurant, Aubrey’s Forest Kitchen, has many vegan options of their menu. Choose from vegetable tempura seasonal vegetables, roasted garlic and mushroom pizza with vegan cheese or vegetable risotto with vegan cheese.

Pubs with vegan options
Taking part in Veganuary, but still want to cosy up by the fire with some pub grub this winter? Do not worry, the New Forest is full of country pubs with excellent vegan choices on their menus, so you don’t have to miss out!
The Woodside Inn, on site at Sandy Balls Holiday Village, has a whole list of vegan choices on their menu, including vegan plant balls coated in a rich tomato and basil sauce with vegan mozzarella in a toasted ciabatta, a vegan option on their special nachos, flavourful vegetable katsu curry and a plant-based protein burger!
Monty’s Inn in Beaulieu have some vegan options on their menu, as do the Waterloo Arms in Lyndhurst, with their vegan vegetable burger, with the choice of a delicious vegan cheese topping, and handmade stone baked pizzas with vegan cheese.

Cafes & Tearooms with vegan options
Many cafes & tearooms in the New Forest offer vegan breakfasts, lunches, snacks and cakes, perfect for a bite to eat after a walk in the forest.
Steff’s Vegan Burger at Steff’s Kitchen is a great option. The Old Station Tearooms have some amazing non-dairy options available, including vegan soup options, hummus and pea shoots flatbread and a falafel and spinach burger.
The New Forest Heritage Centre Café have vegan cheese available, that you can add to your sandwich, panini or jacket potato. Plus, their lemon & raspberry and caramel cakes are vegan!
